A product site for quoting software used by roofers, plumbers and HVAC crews. The buyers spend their day on job sites, so the site is built from their world instead of from dashboard screenshots.

How I work. Five steps, whatever ships at the end.
Start with the problem
Who is stuck, what happens today when they get stuck, and what has to be true for this to be worth building. I leave the first conversation with the constraints written down: budget, platform, deadline, and the one measure that decides whether it worked.
Structure before surface
Flows, states and edge cases first, in low fidelity, where changing your mind is free. Most products fail at the empty state, the error state and the second visit, so those are designed before anything gets a colour.
Choose the route to the interface
When much is unknown, I design straight into code and judge the real thing running. When decisions need to be settled and reviewed first, I build a full system in Figma with real copy and real data lengths. The route depends on the uncertainty, not on habit.
Engineer the shipping build
React and Next.js on the web, SwiftUI for native iOS, React Native for iOS and Android together, Electron for the desktop, or hand-written HTML and CSS when a site needs nothing more. AI sits in the toolchain as a fast pair of hands. Architecture, interaction detail and every judgement call stay mine.
Ship, watch, correct
Into production or through App Store review, then observed. The first week of real use always disagrees with something in the design, and the next iteration comes from that disagreement.

Medicine and design, learned side by side.
I trained as a medical doctor and learned design at the same time, not afterwards. Both disciplines ask the same question: what is this system actually doing, as opposed to what it was designed to do? A ward round and a user flow are the same investigation, run on different material.
That shows up as diagnostic thinking, a habit of designing the error state first, and a low tolerance for things that only look finished. It is also why so much of my work sits in health, money and time, the areas where a careless interface costs someone something real.
Outside of product work I photograph people. Deciding what enters the frame, and where the eye lands first, is the same decision I make in a layout.
